Mission Fire Fighters Will See Increase On Minimum Staffing Levels
A decision on minimum staffing levels in Mission has firefighters hopeful that the right change is coming. Fire Fighters recently addressed concerns that the City of Mission needed to add more on-duty personnel at its fire stations, citing health and safety risks linked to deploying fewer than four firefighters to structure fires. Mission firefighters are trained to have four firefighters at the scene upon arrival — two firefighters to make entry and two on backup in case those going in run into trouble. We would like to thank the City Manager, Fire Chief, and City Council for addressing the concerns of fire fighters. On Thursday, Fire Fighters were notified that minimum staffing will increase beginning April 26, 2021.
